Stockholm Arlanda Airport

Stockholm Arlanda – the green gateway to Sweden

Stockholm Arlanda Airport is the largest airport in Sweden and one of SAS’ three modern, sophisticated Scandinavian hub airports. Stockholm Arlanda Airport has won a number of awards for its innovative environmental initiatives.

US to Stockholm and beyond

SAS flies non-stop from New York Newark and Chicago to Stockholm Arlanda Airport. From Stockholm, convenient SAS connections are available to many other airports in Sweden as well as to national and regional airports throughout Europe.

In Stockholm Arlanda, SAS’ international flights land and take off from Terminal 5 (Arlanda North) and SAS’ domestic flights operate from Terminal 4 (Arlanda South).

It’s easy to walk between the airport terminals as well as to SkyCity, which is the airport’s central shopping and dining area located conveniently between terminal 4 and 5. Free transfer busses also run between the terminals and SkyCity.

Getting to the city of Stockholm

It’s quick and easy to get from the airport to downtown Stockholm, 25 miles away. A high-speed train, the Arlanda Express, runs non-stop between the airport and the city. It’s a 20-minute journey, and trains depart about four times per hour. Additional public transportation options include long-distance trains, local trains, airport express busses and local busses.

Taxis are parked directly outside all terminals, and most companies offer a fixed price option. Nearly three quarters of all taxis at the airport are environmentally friendly eco-taxis. You'll find them lined up in front of regular taxis, or you can ask the taxi stand officer for an eco-taxi.

Car rental

The airport’s car rental area, reached by a free transfer bus, houses Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt car rental offices.

Tourist information

The Visitor Information Center at Stockholm Arlanda Airport is the most frequently visited tourism information center in all of Sweden. Located in Terminal 5, you can book a hotel, buy train tickets, get tourist information for Stockholm and much more.

Currency exchange

There are three currency exchange booths in the international flights terminal. In SkyCity you’ll find two banks and a currency exchange booth. ATMs are located at regular intervals in Terminal 2, 4 and 5 and in SkyCity.

Shopping and dining galore

With more than 50 shops and over 40 restaurants, cafés and bars at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, you’ll have plenty of interesting ways to spend your time after check-in.

In addition to duty-free shops, bookstores, souvenir shops and newsstands, you’ll find Swedish design and fashion, Swedish delicacies and a shop specializing in beautiful black-and-white pictures with motifs from Stockholm and Sweden.

The tempting array of food options include the new Scandinavian restaurant Andersson Food & Akvavit offering mini-dishes created by the award-winning Swedish chef Leif Mannerström. Another famous Swedish chef, Marcus Samuelsson, is the man behind the new Street Food restaurant, serving colorful food from all corners of the world. Samuelsson also has restaurants in New York City, Chicago and California’s Orange County.

Access to the airport's wireless internet network can be purchased for either a one-hour or 24-hour period. The Internet café Sidewalk Express has several locations in the airport.

Comfortable SAS lounges

SAS offers two separate VIP lounges at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Depending on your EuroBonus membership status and ticket category, you may have access to the SAS Business Lounge and/or the SAS Scandinavian Lounge, both located in Terminal 5.

A quiet oasis

The multi-religious chapel in SkyCity provides a quiet room for prayer or contemplation. An English-speaking pastor from the Church of Sweden is on duty Monday to Friday. The airport chapel is also a unique wedding location. Each year, almost 500 Swedish couples exchange their wedding wows at the airport.

Fast Track security

A Fast Track security line is available to SAS Business class and Economy Extra passengers on SAS-operated flights. EuroBonus Gold members traveling on a flight with any Star Alliance airline may also fast-track through security in Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Services for business travelers

In Sky City, between Terminal 4 and 5, you can rent a workstation at the Arlanda Conference & Business Center. No need to book in advance. The price (approximately $50 a day) includes wireless internet and fax access, mobile phone charging facilities, refreshments and more.

Services for disabled travelers

Stockholm Arlanda is a modern, wheelchair-friendly airport. Special assistance at the airport can be requested by passengers with reduced mobility or other extra needs. Please ask for this service when you book your flight.

Traveling with children – unique children's lounge

Stockholm Arlanda Airport's new children's lounge in Terminal 5 is a 1000-square-feet wonderland based on the Swedish author Elsa Beskow's famous children's books. One corner of the lounge features activities for the youngest children. Baby changing facilities can be found in restrooms in all terminals. A nursing room is located in SkyCity.

Porter service at the airport

Porter services (BagPort Sweden) can be booked online 24 hours prior to departure.

Health services

A pharmacy as well as a doctor and dentist's clinic are conveniently located in the airport.

Hotels in and near the airport

Four hotels are located at the airport or very close by. The high-quality Radisson Blu SkyCity Hotel is located in the middle of the airport, ideal for those with an early flight or a late arrival. The Rest and Fly hotel is a more basic, value-for-money alternative, also located in the airport itself.

The luxurious Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel is a four-minute free shuttle bus ride from the airport and offers 230 guest rooms as well as conference and meeting facilities. Jumbo Stay is the world's first hostel inside a jumbo jet. A free transfer bus will take you to this retired 747 for a night's sleep, or just for a cup of coffee to experience the unique location.
