Disruption at Hong Kong airport

Airport operations at Hong Kong International Airport is back to normal.
Passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport three hours before their departure time for the relevant checks.

Rebook your flight
Is the departure date of your flight from Hong Kong between 14-19 August 2019 and your ticket number starts with 117 issued on/before 12 August 2019 on a SAS operated flight?
Then your new departure date should be between 21 August and 31 October 2019.
Please see below options and rules:
1. Change your travel dates
- You may voluntary change your travel dates to a SAS operated flight to/ from Hong Kong.
- You can change your travel dates only if the same travel class is available as mentioned in your original ticket.
- You will not have to pay the change fee.
How to rebook
Log into My Bookings and change your travel dates and/or destination yourself if:
(you need to change country on the website to the same as where you did your original booking).
- Your flight is with SAS
- Flight is not cancelled
- The departure date of your flight from Hong Kong is between 14-19 August 2019
- Your ticket number starts with 117
- Your ticket is issued on/before 12 August 2019
- The ticket is purchased on SAS webb, SAS App or SAS Call Center. If you booked via a travel agent or a tour operator, please contact them directly.
- Your journey has not started
You can rebook to a SAS flight on another date and the same destination if the same service class, as in the original ticket, is available. The new date of travel must be no later than 31 October 2019..
The rebooking is free of charge.
- You cannot rebook online if you travelling with a baby, ordered a special meal, are travelling as an unaccompanied minor, have requested transportation of a wheelchair or pet.
- SAS will not absorb costs such as, but not limited to, accommodation, food and surface/air transportation for voluntary rebookings.
- Did you book your ticket via a travel agent or a tour operator? Please contact your travel agent to rebook your flight.

Apply for a refund
You are entitled to a full refund of your ticket if you are travelling to/ from Hong Kong and your flight was cancelled by SAS, or was delayed for more than 3 hours and you did not travel.
How to request a refund for cancelled flights
If you bought your ticket via SAS and your ticket number starts with 117, you can apply for a refund online, If you booked via a travel agent, please contact them directly.
Strained staffing in security control at Gothenburg Landvetter airport (GOT)
In July and August 2019, Gothenburg Landvetter airport (GOT) will have reduced capacity in the security control due to strained staffing situation. During this time, there will be fewer flows open in the security control, that might cause longer waiting times for departing passengers. Expected waiting time in security checks will be approximately 20-30 minutes, especially during intensive travel days. Passengers are advised to meet up at the airport well in advance.

Renovation of SAS Lounge in New York (EWR)
SAS are renovating the floors at the SAS Lounge in New York (EWR). The project is scheduled to start 08JUL19 and is expected to take approximately three weeks. The SAS Lounge will remain open during the renovation; however, space will be very limited as a large portion of the seating area will be closed off.
SAS Business passengers who are transferring from a United Airlines US domestic flight may visit the UA Polaris Lounge in Terminal C. Due to reduced seating, it will not be possible to purchase lounge access during the renovation period.

Groundwork at Arlanda Airport 01APR19-30OCT19
Groundwork at Terminal 5 at Arlanda airport will affect aircraft parking stands. Aircraft will not be able to park at the stands included in the work. Passengers flying out of the gates affected will therefore travel by bus to their plane. This work is a preventive measure to ensure the bearing capacity of the surfaces the plane is parked on .
It is important that you arrive well in advance at the gate and for pre-boarding the bus, in order to avoid delays. Read more on Swedavia's website
Change of terminal at Hamburg airport.
Effective 12JUN19 SAS passengers will arrive and depart at terminal 1 instead of terminal 2.
No Boeing 737 Max 8 in SAS fleet
SAS has no aircraft type Boeing 737 Max 8 in the fleet.

Milan - closure of Linate airport 27JUL19-26OCT19
Due to runway maintenance, Linate Airport will be closed from 27JUL19 to 26OCT19. Because of this, all our flights to/from Linate Airport in this period are cancelled. Passengers booked to/from Linate will be rebooked to Malpensa (MXP) by SAS. We apologize for the inconvenience.
