The Polish cities Krakow, Poznan and Gdansk oozes Polish culture and a very special atmosphere. If you visit  Krakow you can explore the city's fascinating museums that shed light on Poland's dark past, and visit the communist district Nowa Huta. Additionally, you can go shopping for anything from communist toys to home knitting every Sunday at the largest market in Krakow, Plac Targowy.

If you visit Poznan it is recommended to explore the old, narrow streets at the centre of the city, where restaurants and little bars are side by side. In addition, there are plenty of small markets, and if shopping is on your to-do-list a visit to Poznan's popular shopping mall is a must.

In Gdansk you will find numerous attractions taking you back to the beginning of World War 2. Gdansk is best described as a living museum, and St. Mary's Church, the Natioanl Museum and the peninsula Westerplatte are must-sees. 
 

WARSAW – A PHOENIX

Poland's capital Warsaw has often been referred to as a phoenix, the mythological creature that burned its nest but rose from the ashes. In spite of a relatively turbulent history, Warsaw has similarly risen from the ashes. If you visit Warsaw you will experience a city with a lot of history. Visit the old part of town that was destroyed during World War 2 but since has been restored. Also visit the famous St. John's Cathedral and the “Palac Kultury i Nauki”, a 237 meter tall palace for Culture and Science. 
 

CHEAP SKI VACATION AND BEAUTIFUL HIKES IN POLAND

In Poland you can find fantastic nature, and particularly the mountainous surroundings attract thousands of tourists. Here it is also ideal to ski, and particularly Malta Ski in Poznan is recommendable. If you go on a ski vacation in Poland, it is also a fair bit cheaper than if you go skiing in for example Austria or France.

If you are not so much into skiing you can also hike in Poland's fantastic nature, offering everything from mountains to rivers and valleys.
