Don’t miss to visit the Delta Works – the world’s largest storm surge barrier. The barrier was built after the North Sea flood in 1953. The main attraction of the Delta Works is the Oosterschelde storm surge barrier, a unique flood protection construction of nearly 8 kilometers in length. The barrier was designed so that it can be closed in emergencies.
