Catch a train from Budapest to lake Balaton – the largest lake in Central Europe. The lakeside resort Balatonfüred is only a couple of hours away. Go for a walk along the tree-lined promenade and enjoy the view over the lake and the Tihany peninsula.
If you like Hungarian wine, you should go wine tasting in Eger in the north of the country. Eger is a historic wine region and famous for its wines.
