Current travel alerts

At the moment there are IT problems with multiple systems throughout the world.

The Global Security company Crowdstrike has some kind of problem. SAS is fully operational as no SAS systems seems to be affected at the moment.

Several outstations have severe issues. Berlin and Amsterdam airports are temporarily closed at the moment. As for now we have cancelled one roundtrip CPH-BER-CPH (SK1673/SK1674).

We expect long delays and more cancellations cannot be ruled out. We are monitoring the issue closely. Update will follow.

Rebooking

SAS Passenger Recovery Team will rebook affected passengers subject to availability as most flights are fully booked since we are in summer high season.

Our sincere apologizes for any inconvenience caused.

The internal Schengen border controls in Germany are being temporarily reintroduced on the occasion of UEFA EURO 2024 and will remain in effect until 19 July 2024 at 24:00 hrs.

Effective from 7 June 2024 at 00:00 hrs, German Federal Police will temporarily carry out border controls at all internal Schengen borders (land, air, and sea).

This directive comes from the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community.

These measures may cause delays at border controls and passengers are advised to allow extra time at the airport.

As a part of the work to improve punctuality, SAS is making a change to the check-in deadline for short haul flights.

Therefore, with effective date 25 January 2024, the new check-in deadlines for short haul flights are:

  • Domestic - 40 minutes before departure

  • From Scandinavia - 40 minutes before departure

  • From Europe - 45 minutes before departure

The change applies for all channels where check-in functionality is available.

Due to the current situation in the region SAS has decided to pause all flights to Ukraine and Ukraine airspace until further notice.

As a consequence of the closure of Russian airspace, we are also making changes to routings for our flights to China resulting in longer flight times of approx. 2 hours.

The safety of passengers and employees always comes first for SAS. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update new information on this page when available.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you and do our best to minimize the effects to you.
