MARCH 2023
There are countless reasons for visiting the fairy tale city of Venice. Aside from the poignant canals and majestic buildings, there are several events worth visiting throughout the year – here’s a few of our personal favorites.
The International Architecture Exhibition
One of the world’s most prestigious cultural events is the international architecture exhibition La Biennale Architettura di Venezia. The theme for the event, which is being held for the 18th time between May 20th and November 26th, is The Laboratory of the Future, directed by Curator Lesley Lokko.
The most prominent global innovators and futurists of our time will convene right here to explain their visions of the future. For design enthusiasts everywhere, it promises to be one of the year’s most memorable events.
Festa del Redentore
On the third Sunday in July each year, the Festa del Redentore [Feast of the Redeemer] erupts in Venice – a sprawling public street party with fireworks and light shows all over the city.
The festival celebrates the end of the horrifying Bubonic plague that swept across the city in 1575 and claimed over 50,000 lives. The festival, which attracts visitors from around the world, takes place from July 14-16th this year and ends with a spectacular light show over the Venice canals.
The Venice Film Festival
Biennale Cinema 2023
The 80th edition of the prestigious Venice Film Festival is being held from August 30th to September 9th. At the Lido, where the festival is held, famous international movie stars, film lovers, and industry executives all gather to celebrate and promote international movies – while the storybook town of Venice basks in the glow from the silver screen.
