Whether your passion is art, history, science and technology or the natural world, you'll find something of interest for everyone in Copenhagen's many museums.
The National Museum
The National Museum of Denmark is a good place to start. Housed in a beautiful 18th-century mansion, the collection takes you on a time travel tour of the country, from the prehistoric era to the present. Special exhibitions mean there's always something new to see. On a smaller scale, the Copenhagen Museum records everyday life in Denmark's capital using historical and contemporary artifacts and images. This is a living collection that is constantly updated.
Located near the Citadel and surrounding park, as well as the Little Mermaid statue, the Museum of Danish Resistance is a hidden gem. Learn about the little-known German occupation of Denmark, with its moments of humour, heroism and tragedy, told through films, audio clips and exhibits.
