Refund due to death in family

If an immediate family member has passed away, you can request a refund for trips booked directly with SAS by submitting a death certificate and proof of your relationship. If you booked through a travel agent, please contact them.

All submitted documents will be kept for at least 2 years.

How your refund will be processed

We’ll refund the value of your totally unused tickets using the same payment method that you used to buy the tickets. Partly used tickets can only be refunded according to the ticket rules. Please note that SAS will pay the full refund only to a member of the immediate family of the deceased person. For any other travelers who have canceled a trip due to a death, refunds will be processed according to the fare rules.

SAS considers immediate family the following people: spouse, cohabitating partner, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, parent-in-law, brother/sister-in-law and son/daughter in-law.
