For the third year in a row, SAS is collaborating with Norwegian drinks experts from drinks supplier Arcus at South by South West. House of Scandinavia (HOS) is SAS’ pop-up lounge that will be running in Austin during the festival, featuring a bar focusing on the traditional Nordic spirit Aquavit.
All nine drinks on the menu at HOS contain Aquavit from Arcus, the goal being to promote this iconic drink and give it an increasingly prominent place in international bars.
“Our aim is to introduce Aquavit as a main ingredient in drinks served in bars around the world. We’re also working closely with Arcus on our aircraft,” says Frank Otterbeck, Senior Project Leader at SAS.
The drinks served at HOS will be ready-mixed – just like those served to the business class customers.
“This makes serving easier without compromising on quality. It also feels logical to have ready-made drinks both on our long-haul flights and in our bars.”
A new cocktail is set to be created in collaboration with Stockholm restaurant Tjoget and served on the SXSW flight between Copenhagen and Austin. HOS will also be offering an alcohol-free cocktail, known as a “mocktail”.
At House of Scandinavia, guests can pay securely using SAS’ payment gateway partner REV.
