Northern Quarter
Manchester city center

Known as the creative quarter of Manchester with lots of shops, cafés & bars, Affleck's Palace is a good stop, a former department store that has been turned into a multi-storey bazaar for alternative clothing and knick-knacks. Shopping can be exhausting - the Northern Quarter Restaurant & Bar is a good place to replenish your enegy reserves. Great food and long opening hours.

Fletcher Moss Garden
Wilmslow Rd.

One of the best-kept gardens in Manchester. Make sure to fill up your picnic basket at Barbakan Deli, another best in town.
The Lowry

Landmark art venue in Salford Quays. There's also a nice collection of shops & restaurants at Lowry Plaza. Nice architecture around the place too, quite modern. It's a bit out of the way, but easy to reach by tram.
