Take part in Arctic adventures, including randonee skiing, outdoor camping and scooter racing in the wondrous archipelago of Svalbard. Aleksander Gamme, one of Norway's most versatile adventurers, will join the trip to share experiences from some of his expeditions.

Program

Thursday MAY 3

Departure from Oslo Gardermoen Airport.

Arrival Longyearbyen at 14:00. Pick up at the airport and a short-guided tour to Basecamp Hotel for check in twin rooms.

Time to explore Longyearbyen in the afternoon, before meeting with the guides for packing personal equipment and ski equipment on sleds for next day’s adventure.

Once packed, we meet in the Travelers Club at Basecamp Hotel for a little kick off, with an aperitif/beer, information & briefing for the next days. Dinner at Kroa 20:30 and you can walk from the hotel to the restaurant in bare socks.

Friday MAY 4

Off we go in the Arctic Wilderness! Pick up at 8 or 8:30. Scootertur to Grønnfjordbreen where we set up camp. Two people per tent. One Basecamp guide will stay in the camp and will have a glance while the rest of the group is out ski touring. After a long and copious day, we end the day with a night in the nature, dinner and social dinner in the expedition camp.

Saturday MAY 5

Breakfast and putting down the camp before packing up equipment on the snowmobiles.

Ski touring and lunch in the wild before proceeding to Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel in the afternoon. Here you can enjoy an Arctic Spa, Sauna and a good shower before dinner awaits.

Lunches served in the field are drytech expedition lunches, and camp dinner will be fresh food that is vacuum-packed for heating in water. Ex. Reindeer stew with mashed potatoes. A small dessert and coffee / tea are served afterwards.

Sunday MAY 6

Early breakfast and departure at 07:00 from Isfjord Radio. The distance from the city is approx. 100km and it will take around 4-5 hours to town without stop/lunch. The group is big, and given the number and unpredictable weather conditions, we need a margin of time.

What is nice about driving from Isfjord the last day is that the sledges and equipment are packed and clear the day before and we can set off directly in the morning.

After arrival in Longyearbyen we will have a light lunch and time to change clothes at Basecamp tour production department before continuing to the airport at 13:30.
