You can always bring at least one carry-on bag and one personal item, such as a small handbag or laptop in the cabin free of charge.
Your baggage allowance depends on your ticket type. All carry-on baggage must be within the size and weight limits and fit under the seat in front of you. Coats and jackets can be stowed in the overhead compartment. Duty-free and airport purchases count as part of your carry-on.
Pack smaller fragile and valuable items such as passports, laptops, money, medication, jewelry, cameras and keys in your carry-on. Larger items, such as computers, televisions, or other similar items must be sent as cargo.
SAS will not replace these items – see our general conditions of carriage for more information.
You are allowed to bring a small amount of liquids in your carry-on, such as toothpaste, lotion, mascara, perfume etc. All liquids have to be placed in individual containers of 100 ml or less. The total amount of liquids must not exceed 1 liter. All your liquids have to be placed in one clear 1-liter plastic bag.
You can bring enough baby milk and baby food for your flight.
You can bring medicines and injections, for personal use, onboard. They must be kept in a separate bag.
There are some items you are never allowed to bring onboard. Read more about what you mustn’t pack in your carry-on here.
Small dogs and cats can travel with you in the cabin, except for in SAS Business where no pets are allowed. Other pets/animals must be checked in.
The number of pets allowed on each flight is limited. Contact Customer Service to reserve a space for your pet. Do this as soon as possible, but no later than 24 hours before departure. Have the carrier measurements at hand when calling.
You are required to fill out a document before traveling with animals, except for on domestic flights in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Bring printed copies of the document and present this to our airport representatives at check in.
At SAS, you pay a flat rate per container/carrier and direction, outbound or inbound, including connections. Service dogs travel for free in the cabin with SAS, when on active duty. You can bring one service animal per person.
A pet container/carrier will count as your carry-on bag.
We follow operational regulations and guidelines to keep your animal safe and healthy when traveling in the cabin. Read more about SAS pet policy and guidelines.
