Aalborg (Ålborg) was originally settled as a trading post based on its position on the Limfjord at the entrance to the North Sea. The city remains an important industrial and commercial center in Denmark.
With some of the area’s most picturesque houses from the 17th century, Aalborg is the country’s fourth-largest municipality and boasts an approachable and fun-loving city feel. The city is also home to the Aalborg Zoo, Aalborg Maritime Museum and the Utzon waterfront.
