From the United States to Helsinki and onwards

In Helsinki, SAS flights arrive in and depart from Terminal 1. Connecting SAS flights are available to other airports in Finland and throughout Europe.
Helsinki Airport is very easy to navigate. All international and domestic arrivals and departures are located within the same building.
Getting to the city of Helsinki
Helsinki Airport is about half an hour’s journey (10.6 miles) from downtown Helsinki. Take the Finnair airport express bus or city bus # 615. Taxis are parked right outside the arrival areas of the terminals, and a trip to Helsinki costs around $50.
Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt car rental service counters are conveniently located in the corridor between terminals on the arrivals level of the airport.
There is a bank and seven currency exchange booths in Helsinki Airport. ATMs are located throughout the airport.
Shopping and dining
The restaurants, cafés and bars at Helsinki Airport offer everything from reindeer burgers and traditional Finnish pastries to standard pizza and pasta fare. Among the specialty stores, you’ll find Santa’s Gift & Toy Store (according to Finns, Santa lives in Finnish Lapland). The Moomin Shop sells toys, books etc. based on the lovable Finnish-Swedish Moomin troll character.
Spa and saunas
Finland is famous for its saunas and you’ll find no less than four right in the airport! The luxurious Finnair Spa & Sauna offers over 5,000 square feet of wellness for travelers: saunas, a mineral water pool, a wide range of massages, beauty treatments and much more.
Helsinki Airport provides free wireless internet access. There are also internet kiosks located throughout the airport, and you’ll find pay-to-use computer stations at the eService Bar.
The comfortable SAS Business Lounge is located in Terminal 1 and offers select SAS passengers a bite to eat and a place to relax or work while waiting for a flight.
Fast Track security
SAS Business class and Economy Extra passengers as well as EuroBonus Gold members may take advantage of the efficient Fast Track security line at Helsinki Airport.
Services for disabled travelers
Helsinki Airport is very accessible for passengers with reduced mobility or other special needs. Airport features include wheelchair-accessible toilets, spacious elevators on all floors, a dedicated security control line and more. Special assistance service should be requested when booking your flight and at least 48 hours before departure.
Children at the airport
Helsinki Airport has four playrooms located on the departures level. In addition to toys, some playrooms are equipped with baby changing facilities, a kid’s bed and a microwave oven for heating bottles and baby food. Baby changing facilities can also be found in most restrooms. Loaner strollers are available for use at the airport. The five-star Hilton Helsinki Airport hotel is only a three-minute walk away, via a covered walkway. Six nearby hotels are serviced by free shuttle busses, including the Holiday Inn Helsinki-Vantaa Airport hotel and the Best Western Airport Hotel Pilotti.
