500,000 birds
In February to August, the island of Runde is visited by half a million birds. They have registered 230 species, among them the puffin & the mighty sea eagle. The boat trip doesn't take long and its not exhausting like hiking, but it's still pretty amazing.

Hellesylt waterfall
This waterfall is really cool and a good photo opportunity. Make sure to get there before the tourists come though. We got there early and got some nice shots. By the time we left, there was a crowd. Avoid it.
World Heritage Cruise
There are a number of cruises avaliable leaving from Ålesund going further north or south. Pick one that includes the Geirangerfjord. The fjord is on the UNESCO's World Heritage List and for good reason. It's really quite amazing - as long as the weather is ok. Check the weather before you buy your ticket!
