Take the metro to Tushinkskaya, then bus 549 or 541 and get off at the bus stop Arkhangelskoy. I just love walking in the gardens there.

Novospasskiy Monastery is well known as the burial vault of the Romanov's boyar family. About 70 relatives of the Tsar's family and many noble Russian families are buried here. The monastery was
one of the richest and the centre of Russian Orthodox culture before Soviet times. The monastery is home to an ancient iconostasis (saved during Soviet by some miracle) and several wonder-working icons, one of which can allegedly cure cancer.
This may not be a top Russian restaurant, but at least you get
real Russian food and some experience of what it should be
