Kiruna Airport is 5.6 miles (9 kilometres) from the centre of Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden and gateway to Lapland.
The airport can be easily reached by bus from the city centre, as well as a number of private taxi services. There is also parking available for around 300 cars and it's possible to pay per hour or day. Those looking to meet passengers arriving on flights to Kiruna can make use of the dedicated pickup areas. A number of leading car rentals companies also have desks within the terminal building.
Once you are within the main terminal building, food is available from Mat & Dryck Restaurant, which can be reached before going through security check. The seasonal menu always includes vegetarian options, together with a wide selection of sandwiches and lighter fare.
A separate VIP lounge is available for those looking to relax in private surroundings. Free WiFi Internet access is available to all users of the airport with small additional charges for those who have to download larger amounts of data.
Given the relatively small size of Kiruna Airport, check-in does not usually take a lot of time. Self-service kiosks are also available. Other services provided at the airport include a post box, which can be found just outside the terminal building. Express deliveries are handled by Jetpak.
Kiruna Airport provides comfortable surroundings for those arriving at or departing from this popular location. Grab a bite to eat or to send postcards prior to boarding your flight.
With a number of transport options available, you'll also discover that it's easy to make your way from the airport to the very heart of Kiruna.
