24 hour right of cancellation/refund
When you purchase a ticket online from the SAS website or through the SAS Travel Center, you are always entitled to a full refund within 24 hours of the purchase. However, for tickets purchased less than 24 hours before departure, refunds are only issued up to 12 hours before the flight.
The policy applies for the cancellation of a whole journey. For changes to your ticket within 24 hours, other rules apply depending on ticket type. If you make a change to the ticket within 24 hours, then cancel within 24 hours, the cost of the ticket will be refunded minus rebooking and service fees.
If you have purchased cancellation insurance from Europ Assistance at the same time you booked your ticket here on flysas.com, the amount for the cancellation insurance will be refunded automatically from Europ Assistance. Please note that it can take up to 7-10 days before it is credited to your account.
Please contact SAS Customer Contact Center to request a refund.
Note: Refunds are not permitted for flights departing within 12 hours.
Refund at least 24 hours after purchase
The rules below apply to tickets purchased on the SAS website.
Business or Economy Extra tickets are generally refundable. Economy tickets are non-refundable. Only taxes are refundable on non-refundable tickets. For reservations made on or after September 14, 2011, the fuel surcharge is non-refundable on non-refundable tickets. For journeys originating in Japan, the fuel surcharge is non-refundable on non-refundable tickets booked on or after October 1, 2011.
Specific exceptions to the above may apply on certain destinations. In such cases, information will be provided for the destination in question.
Please submit refund requests by contacting the office from which the ticket was purchased or SAS Customer Contact Center.
Refund of other products
For products other than airline tickets, including rental cars, hotel bookings and combined air and hotel packages, our partners' rules apply.
Refund of one-way on a roundtrip ticket
A refundable roundtrip ticket can be partially refunded, such as the return ticket on a roundtrip journey. In this case, you will be refunded an amount that is calculated on the basis of the total roundtrip fare you paid for the ticket minus the price of the applicable one-way fare at the time of the booking of the trip.
Refund after rebooking an original non-refundable ticket to a refundable ticket
If you have originally purchased a non-refundable ticket, e.g. an Economy ticket, and subsequently rebooked to a refundable ticket, e.g. a Business ticket, you are eligible for a refund of part of that ticket, which is refundable. This corresponds to an amount equivalent to the difference between the fare and fuel surcharge of the original and rebooked tickets.
Please see Conditions of Carriage for more information.
