Good advice for those who are pregnant
Avoid being stressed if you are traveling while pregnant. You can reduce your stress level by planning your trip carefully to minimize any unforeseen incidents. Leave for the airport in good time since transportation to the airport may take longer than expected. In addition, it is a good idea to pack your bags the day before so you will not have to do so in the morning before you depart. Separately, a suitcase with wheels is highly recommended for travel when you are pregnant.
Pregnancy is hard for most women and energy levels may not be as high as before you were pregnant. Be prepared that you may no longer be able to handle as many things as before you were pregnant. It is important that you are on time and take it a little easy.
To prevent nausea, it is important to eat prior to departure and perhaps bring some small snacks in your cabin baggage. Remember to drink plenty of water to avoid becoming dehydrated, which is more likely when you fly. If your eating habits are disrupted during your trip, you can get your doctor to recommend vitamin and mineral supplements before you travel. Please be reminded that it is important that your baby gets the right nutrition.
It is also important that you have something comfortable for footwear during your trip if your feet swell. Bring a pair of shoes that you are comfortable in. It is also a good idea to bring blister plasters. If it is difficult for you to reach down to your feet to take off your shoes during to your growing belly, it is worth considering to bring a pair of slippers.
Multiple vaccinations are not allowed to be administered during pregnancy and all unnecessary medications should be avoided. In certain places in the world, medical and hospital treatment may be different (less restrictive) than in Scandinavia. A pregnant woman may have a reasonable and natural skepticism about medication that is prescribed or recommended in such destinations. For advice on which vaccinations you should avoid during pregnancy and which ones are safe to have, please contact your doctor.
If you are trying to get pregnant and are traveling at the same time, try wherever possible to get vaccinated prior to pregnancy.
