"A strained commercial position does not necessarily mean that innovation is sacrificed." This is one of the commendations, when SAS received the award for technological progress. The SAS group has launched a new environmental strategy that includes an ambitious environmental target: 20% reduce of carbon-dioxide emissions by 2020 Two of the methods of achieving this reduction are by implementing energy enhancements and mixing jet fuel with renewable sources. The new environmental target assumes passenger growth of 4 percent per year and for each producing unit the target entails halving carbon-dioxide emissions by 2020. SAS official airline for international climate conferences SAS was the Official Airline and Greening Partner at four international conferences at the United Nations Climate Change Conference 2009. SAS has undertaken to offset CO2 emissions from air travel for all conference delegates who travel with SAS. We are responsible for our environment Use the CO2 Emission Calculator to estimate your share of aircraft emissions when you travel with the SAS group. The estimation of aircraft emissions is still not a perfect science and is subject to debate. Please read the general information to be informed about the current status. |
