A confirmed upgrade can be booked from Economy Extra to Business up to 24 hours prior to respective flight departure and maximum two flights and four passengers can be upgraded in one reservation.

Stand-by upgrade on Scandinavian Airlines

The standby upgrade at gate for EuroBonus points is a much appreciated service among the EuroBonus members. SAS recently announced plans for a price adjustment for the stand by upgrade due to increased costs for the upgrade at gate service. Based on a dialogue with SAS’ most valuable customers, the EuroBonus members, SAS has now decided to postpone any price adjustment for the time being.

How it works
You can use your points for a stand-by upgrade on scheduled flight operated by SAS. Important fact to be aware of is that the upgrade is subject to availability of space and meals* in the upgrade class.
Can also be used by accompanying family member, friends and colleagues on the same flight. The good part with
a stand-by upgrade at gate on SAS is the  you are able to upgrade from all fares rather than being limited to
upgrading from few fares, makes it more easy to understand doesn't it?

General conditions for stand-by upgrade on SAS

• The upgrade request should be made at check-in or at gate. Points will be deducted if space, time and meal* is available in the upgrade class at gate.
• Stand-by upgrade on scheduled flight operated by SAS and can be used by a EuroBonus member, accompanying family member,friends and colleagues on the same flight.
• The stand-by upgrade do not entitle the bearer to any lounge access or extra baggage allowance.
• The original class booked applies as the basis for points regardless of upgrades.
• The stand-by upgrade are not available on charter flights, award trips or codeshare flights.
•  Please note that if you have ordered a special meal, it is not possible to request an upgrade.
